AN EXCEPTIONAL WALK ALONG THE ESSEX/SUFFOLK BORDER
The first North Essex Circular Walk took place place in 1994, starting from Wakes Colne the route was 22 miles along The Essex Way, finishing at Lawford where all the walkers had a meal in the village hall before being taken back by G. W. Osborne & Sons coaches of Tollesbury,
Osbornes Coaches supplied the coaches free. The walk was a one off event, but as you can see fourteen years later we are still going strong, this is due to the people taking part requesting a second walk. during the following years we introduced a 16mile and seven mile route. So going from strength to strength we will be celebrating our fifteenth anniversary on Sunday 24th may, 2009.
For the 2009 walk we have researched a fantastic route along the Essex/Suffolk border. At various points the route crosses the River into Suffolk, through the Stour Valley, visiting Bures, Argar Fenn, Assington Thicks, Cornard Country Park, up tp Great Henny overlooking the Stour Valley, plus lots more beautiful countryside. Although its not until May 2009 you can register your name now to receive an application form in January, 2009.

Route: A detailed route description will be issued to all entrants on the day of the walk Parking: Parking available at the hall Start: 25 & 16 mile route - 9am. 7 mile route - 10am Equipment: PLEASE BRING A MUG FOR YOUR DRINKS Refreshments: Food & drink will be available at all checkpoints, filled rolls at lunchtime checkpoint. A meal and desert will be served at the finish.
Certificates: All entrants will receive a certificate of achievement Now our regular starting point, Pebmarsh Village Hall offers excellent facilities. If you have any Colleagues, friends , relations etc. who maybe interested in this years walk add their name and address at the bottom of the application form.
All proceeds from the walk will be donated to HELEN ROLLASON HEAL CANCER CHARITY.
Although sponsorship is not in anyway compulsory, our main object is for a good days walking along Essex footpaths. However we will be sending Sponsorship/Donation forms to all entrants, any money you can raise will certainly be appreciated by HELEN ROLLASON HEAL CANCER CHARITY enabling them to continue their vital work.
